What is MDSBackupBrowser?

Creating a file-backup with the new Motorola Desktop Suite for the A1000 stores all files and folders in a non-human-readable form on your PC.
With this simple but effective application, you can browse all backups on your PC, and export files and folders, including directory structure.

Install/Uninstall

Copy the file "MDSBackupBrowser.exe" to any folder on your PC and start it directly. For uninstallation, simply delete the file.

Usage

Start MDSBackupBrowser. If there's more than one device registered on your PC's Desktop Suite, select a device from the "Handsets" menu first.
Select a backup from the "Backups" menu.
Now you can browse your directories and files, just like in Windows-Explorer. By right-clicking a file or directory, you'll get a context sensitive menu where exporting of selected items is possible.
You can also Drag & Drop files and directories directly from the view to another folder/explorer on your PC.

The status bar displays modification time and size of the selected item.

Menu "File->Select backup dir..." allows manual selection of a directory where files from a Desktop Suite's backup are stored. This is usefull if you want to keep backups of your backups, and view/export them later.

Tweaks

MDSBackupBrowser can change some view-settings of the Desktop Suite. See menu "File->Tweaks".
Motorola Desktop Suite must be restarted for those settings to take affect.

Licence terms

This is a 14 days trial version. Please test MDS Backup Browser before registering! You must either buy a licence or uninstall MDS Backup Browser after the trial period is over.
The unregistered trial version allows only 3 file-exports in one session. After purchase and full payment of a licence, you are entitled to use the software for an unlimited period of time for the mobile phone which IMEI you specified during purchase.
