nopMotOp v1.6

What is nopMotOp?

nopMotOp is a small proof-of-concept utility for running Opera v6.31 for UIQ on the Motorola A920, A925 and A1000.
All Motorola UIQ devices already have an Opera browser built-in, but either older versions or with some capabilities disabled, like small-screen-rendering, full-screen-mode or disable loading images.
You can check your browser's version by entering "about:opera" as web page address.

This software is donation-ware, free for non-commercial, private use. It may be used only for educational, academic, and research purposes.

Usage

Follow these steps:

Install Opera v6.31 for UIQ on your device. Download from a mirror: opera_uiq_631_eng_70_20.sis
NOTE: If you cannot install this file because the device claims it is incompatible, you'll need a file called SonyEricssonP80xPlatform.sis which has to be copied (NOT installed!) to c:\system\install
Install nopMotOp on your device. Download from here: nopMotOp_v1_6.zip (9 KB)
Run nopMotOp and check its output.
You may uninstall nopMotOp if the operation was successfull.
Enjoy Opera! ...and make a donation...

Opera loads a default home-page file on each start which cannot be changed. The file is (on the device):

c:\system\apps\opera\home.html

If you like, you can overwrite this file with an empty textfile, or put your own home-page there.
